Credo Capital Management provides investment advisory services for institutional investors. Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, every Credo professional is committed to serving the interests of our clients.
We make a service promise to every client that incorporates their unique specifications.
The fundamental objective of Credo Capital is to provide superior investment performance over time and through all economic and market cycles. Our mission statement reflects this objective. We circumvent the impact of emotion in the market using proprietary forward-looking tools and disciplined processes to discover opportunities and to control risk for our clients.
Client benefits
Although performance is always paramount, we have learned from our institutional clients that client service, aligned interests, and rigorous compliance standards are all extremely important to them as well. We have combined a sound investment process with an organizational culture that fosters collaboration between firm professionals and emphasizes our client-orientation while encouraging curiosity, intellectual honesty, vision and teamwork. We believe these attributes are essential to creating an organization that operates with the highest ethical standards, embraces teamwork, and revolves around client service.
Performance-driven
We focus our efforts on identifying inefficiently priced securities because we believe this approach provides the greatest opportunity to outperform consistently, over time. Our unique culture is designed to not only leverage the skills and knowledge of our research staff for better decision-making, but to induce collaboration in a way that will ensure the sustainability of results as we continue to grow.
Aligned interests
Credo is an independently owned and managed investment management organization. Because Credo’s professionals own a majority of company equity, our interests are completely aligned with those of our clients. Much has been written about so called “agency” conflicts and the risk they pose to investment performance. As David F. Swenson, Yale University’s legendary Chief Investment Officer states, “Only when operating in the context of a privately held, portfolio-manager-controlled, independent company do managers possess the ability to consider serving the interests of investors without worrying about the implications for the income statement.”
Compliance
Our clients entrust us with their financial well-being and we take that responsibility very seriously. From the top of the organization down, we foster an environment of ethical behavior by seeking to instill in every professional an obligation to do what is right. We believe that having a strong compliance culture is not only the right thing to do in itself, but is ultimately the best way to conduct business. We expect each of our professionals to live up to the letter of the law as an absolute minimum standard of conduct.
In order to create a complete investment package, we have combined a sound investment process with an organizational culture that fosters productive interaction by emphasizing client-centricity, curiosity, intellectual honesty, and a forward-looking orientation that we believe are essential to creating an organization that behaves by the highest standards of ethics, that embraces teamwork, and that revolves around client-service.
